The Witcher 3 Cheat Codes and Console Commands

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an incredibly large and deep role-playing game in which players often have to deal with extremely difficult opponents or an acute shortage of money. In addition, in such large projects, bugs often appear that do not allow you to complete some quests due to broken scripts (the necessary characters or items simply do not appear). Cheat codes and console commands for The Witcher 3 help to cope with all these difficulties.

How to Activate the Witcher 3 Cheat Codes and Console

The console is usually used by developers to test the game, and therefore it is locked by default. Fortunately, you can activate it using one of two simple methods:

  • Installing the Mod – Although the page states that it is intended for version 1.22, it actually works on later updates of the game. To download a file, click on the “Files” tab, and then click on the “Manual Download” button. Next, unpack the downloaded archive into The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt \\ bin \\ x64 daddy (in general, into the directory where the game itself is located).
  • Change the general.ini file – find it in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt \\ bin \\ config \\ base folder, open it using a text editor (a regular Notepad will do) and enter the line DBGConsoleOn = true in it. However, this method is not as reliable as the previous one.

Now you can open the console at any time by pressing the F2 key or “~” (tilde). After that, you will be able to enter the commands indicated by us below. By the way, if you press the F1 key, you activate the free camera mode.

Quest Items

Immediately, we note that to add various things to the inventory (elixirs, cards for gwent, equipment, etc.), you need to use the additem (X) (N) command, in which the letter “X” denotes the name of the item, and “N” is its level (not always required). The fact is that in some lists we will only indicate the name of the gizmos without a command. If “additem” is already registered, then you do not need to add it again. Example:
